Due to the high number of band applications we are holding a Battle of the Bands type competition - the first heat is on Wednesday 1st September. Register your interest here or email southamptonoxjam@gmail.com ASAPif you want to play.

There will be 5 bands at the first two heats. Two acts from each heat will progress to the final.

The winners of the overall competition will not only get a great slot at the festival, but also win a professional band photo shoot (and lots more - TBC)

Heats are on 1st and 8th September 2010
Final will be held on 22nd September 2010

All shows will be at The Soul Cellar

Doors open at 7pm and entry will cost £4 - this will also get you free entry into the DJ Hammy Show

All proceeds from these event will go towards putting on the main Oxjam Southampton Takeover event

The main Oxjam Southampton Takeover event has now been moved to Sunday October 24th.

We have five venues confirmed now - and over 200 bands fighting for around 30 slots. The venues confirmed for the main takeover are:

Aimed at all ages and mixing up the soundtrack to your lives, Supersonic @ The Dorch is the place to go if you want a real pub atmos' with club ideals.
I did my first night there over 12 years ago and the night continues to grow and re-invent.
The overall playlist is a request lead eclectic mix of 6 decades of

Time is 9pm-2.30am. Admission is £5
